BeverlyRene

Beverly was born in Michigan and lived most of her life in Baltimore, Maryland. She knew from an early age that she wanted to be an artist. Beverly responded visually to her world and spent most of her time drawing. Beverly and her husband, an Abenaki Indian, have worked for years in First Nation's communities in Canada and the United States. She has always been involved with communities and artist's cooperatives sharing her skills in art. Beverly has been represented in galleries and shows in both Canada and the United States, as well as wining awards for her paintings and ink drawings on the East Coast and in the Northwest.

Artists Statement: My faith in the Creator, my involvement with Indigenous cultures and my concern for people from all nations has greatly influenced my art. Since moving to the Northwest I've been painting portraits and landscapes that have an arresting luminous quality. I attempt to touch the threshold inside where beauty of the natural world merges with my own emotional perception of that world.
